Welcome to The Crimson Monkeys website!

We are a team from Middlesbrough who participated in the 2007 Mongol Rally, which involved driving approximately 8000 miles from Hyde Park in London to the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar, in order to raise money for charity.

This may not sound too difficult, so to spice things up the rally organisers imposed a rule on the vehicle used for the task; it must have an engine size of less than 1 litre and be generally considered to be rubbish.

The rally took 3 weeks and 5 days to complete, but we were lucky to get there at all as there are no back up teams on the Mongol Rally, so we were totally on our own when something went wrong, which, inevitably, it did!

In order for us to participate in the rally, we needed to raise a minimum of £1000 for charity. We have managed to beat this target but we are still collecting donations so if you would like to sponsor us retrospectively for completing the challenge, then please click on the links below! To find out more information about the charities, please click on the link the left hand side of this page.
